Mehwish Hayat supports public hanging of child abusers

Winner of the President’s Pride of Performance Award and renowned actress Mehwish Hayat has supported the resolution passed by the National Assembly calling for public hanging of child abusers and murderers.

In ar tweet, she said it was strange that people are demanding public hanging of such criminals who committed crime against children but as the government agreed to pass bring in legislation in this regard, everyone started talking about it as a blatant violation of human rights.

She said the government must be fully determined to pass such laws that deter those who are guilty of child abuse failing which crime against children would go on unabated.

Meanwhile, Laiba, whose elder sister Zainab, fell victim to a similar nature of the crime, has lauded the PTI government for introducing a resolution in the National Assembly.

She was of the view that such crimes against children are on the rise and deterrent laws alone could discourage such anti-social elements.

Zainab’s father also expressed similar views appreciating the government for demonstrating its will to legislate.
