A civil court in Lahore Tuesday issued a notice to the prosecutor to appear on the next date of the hearing of a petition filed by a woman, seeking court orders for the Punjab health department to deliver to her the pensions of her parents who were the department employees and were now dead, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Samia, from Green Town locality of Lahore, had filed a petition in the court in which she had stated that she was a widow, and that when her father had died she used to receive his pension.

She went on to add that now when her mother too had passed away, she wanted the court to declare her entitled to the pension of her mother as well.

Waseem Rajput Advocate, on the occasion, submitted to the court copy of the Supreme Court’s decision in which it had decreed that a daughter, widowed or divorced, or other children, not adults, and who were dependents on both of their parents, were entitled to receive their pensions.

The civil judge then adjourned hearing of the case until March 4, 2022.
