Traders are backbone of govt machinery: Parvez

Anjuman-e-Tajiran Lahore President Mujahid Maqsood Butt called on Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Sunday and apprised him of the problems traders were facing.

He especially highlighted the condition set by the government for buyers to show their computerised national identity cards if they are buying anything worth Rs50,000 or more. He thanked Parvez for the kind words he said about the late Haji Maqsood Butt on the floor of the Punjab Assembly.

Parvez said that Haji Maqsood Butt was the most favourite president of the traders and he worked as a bridge between the government and the trading community. He said that traders would pay their tax and submit their tax returns on time due to Haji Maqsood Butt. He said the trading community is like the backbone of the government machinery and there is a need to solving their problems on a priority basis.
