Admitting Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) Faisal Vawda’s petition against the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) February 24 decision for immediate hearing, the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday said it would take up the petition on Tuesday (tomorrow), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Vawda has also sought a stay order from the court in the case.

Arguing that the ECP was not authorised to hear his disqualification case, the PTI leader has prayed to the court to bar the election commission from going ahead with the hearing of the case.

He has contended that the election commission did not take into account the facts while rejecting his application, in which he had objected to the commission’s taking up of complaints against him.

It is worth mentioning here that three complaints of having dual citizenship are registered with the ECP against the ruling party leader.

Qadir Khan Mandokhel, Mian Muhammad Asif and Khalid Javed Ran are the complainants against Vawda.
