The Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure has issued a notice to former caretaker prime minister Anwarul Haq Kakar, who is also a senator, for failing to pay the rent of his residence in Minister Enclave, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Friday.
According to the notice, Kakar owes Rssix million for living in Bungalow No. 15 of Minister Enclave for the past five and a half years.
Kakar did not pay the monthly rent as per the rules, despite being a senator and receiving a salary and allowances from the government.
Kakar resigned from his post as the caretaker prime minister last week, after serving for three months. He is still occupying the bungalow, which is meant for ministers and senior officials.
The Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure has asked Kakar to vacate the bungalow and pay the outstanding amount within 15 days, or face legal action.
