Senator Ejaz Chaudhry's production order issued for voting in presidential election

The Senate of Pakistan’s secretariat has issued a notification for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Ejaz Chaudhry’s production order for voting in the presidential election, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.  

The directive came following a series of interventions by members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Senate.

On Friday, PTI senators reached the deputy chairman's dais, demanding Chaudhry's production orders and stressing his presence and participation in the presidential election scheduled for tomorrow.

Conceding to their demands, Senate Deputy Chairman Mirza Muhammad Afridi has given a ruling to immediately issue production orders for PTI's Senator Ejaz , ensuring his presence for the upcoming presidential election tomorrow.

Mirza directed the secretary senate to issue Ejaz Chaudhry’s production order saying that it’s his right to cast vote in tomorrow’s presidential election.

Following the ruling, the senate secretary issued notification to produce Chaudhry in the senate on Saturday at 10 am.

During the seante session, PTI's Senator Ali Zafar reiterated the significance of Chaudhry's right to vote in the presidential election and urged for swift action to facilitate his attendance.

"Tomorrow is the presidential election, he has to vote, it is his right," he stated, adding that the senator should be here at this important juncture.

He further said that there was no need to go to court when high court orders were there for reference.   

Meanwhile, Senator Ejaz was admitted to Punjab Institute of Cardiology after he had felt a chest pain in the Lahore Central Jail. He was rushed to PIUC where his medical tests were conducted.  

Talking to media, he said that he was detained for the last ten months.  "Now, the authorities are taking him to  Islamabad to for presidential election."
