More healthcare professionals and hospital staff members tested positive in Karachi, Peshawar and Lahore, as the number of confirmed cases are witnessing an alarming rise in Pakistan, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.

According to details, the virus was detected in two doctors and eight other staff working at the gynae ward of Karachi’s Jinnah Hospital.

Dr Hafsa and Dr Ayesha as well as a senior technician, sweeper and staff members were among those infected by the virus.

However, the hospital administration said they had not shut the ward so far.

Meanwhile, five more nurses were tested positive for coronavirus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after which the number of those infected by the virus reached 61.

On the other hand, two staff members at Punjab Institute of Neurosciences in Lahore also tested positive after 50 of them were screened.
