Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday said that two stories published in the British weekly, The Economist, had supported the government’s point of view that the former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan was bent upon weakening Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a tweet, Shehbaz Sharif said that it was written in the Economist that it was the Imran-led PTI government which had backed out of the commitments it had made in its deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

“And now he is exploiting the disastrous situation resulting from his own violation of the IMF deal by doing point scoring,” the premier wrote, quoting The Economist.

Rana Sanaullah's tweet

In a tweet, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said “Imran (the champion of U-Turn) is at the height of his political decline. A statement in the morning; Denial of the same in the evening; If you abuse someone at night, forgive him in the morning. Fitna Khan is a constant threat to Pakistan's security. The nation has rejected such a fitna, after Peshawar today even Chishtian (show) is disgrace.”
