Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman says his campaign against the government has been afoot and it will go on till the toppling of ‘selected’ regime, 24NewsHD reported on Saturday.

The Maulana says Covid-19 outbreak has brought a ‘break’ to his anti-Imran drive, the sources said as the JUI-F announced public gatherings on September 7 and 15 in Peshawar and Chitral respectively.

According to the insiders, the major opposition parties’ support to the government in recent legislation made the JUI-F chief angry though the leaders of PML-N and PPP assured him of ‘giving ruling PTI tough time’.

The JUI-F chief says his party will participate only in ‘purposeful’ all-party conference (APC) - an opposition’ moot for devising strategy to topple the government, the sources said citing Maulana’s resentment as the reason for delay in meeting of Rehbar Committee a body established for preparations of APC last month.

Last year, the longtime rival of the cricketer-turned politician led his followers to the federal capital, Islamabad, where he staged a sit-in calling upon the premier to step down in 48 hour.

However, the Maulana called off the 13-day sit-in and announced ‘Plan B’ under which his followers were assigned to stage demos in other towns of the country.
