Govt waives sales tax on import of 61 medical items till Dec 31

The federal government Monday waived sales tax on the import of 61 corona related medical items. According to the 24News HD TV channel, sales tax exemption would be applicable till December 31, 2021.

As per the report, Sales tax would be given up on the N-95 masks, tactical suits, gum boats, disposable shoe covers.

Surgical instruments, oxygen recovery kits, ventilator circuits, venture masks would also be exempted from the sales tax.

Syringe fusion pump, infusion pump, ECG machines, X-ray mobile machines would also be sales tax-free till the end of this year.

The government had also exempted some other medical devices like bio-safety cabinets, 50-litre capacity autoclave machines, and vacuum folders from the sales tax.
