Predicting that time for Prime Minister Imran Khan was up, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal said on Wednesday that this would be for the first time in the country’s history that a prime minister would lose his seat through a no-confidence move, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to the media personnel after appearing in an accountability court (AC) in Islamabad in connection with the hearing of Narowal Sports City reference, he said that The Almighty Allah had given Imran an opportunity to serve the masses. “But he squandered that,” Ahsan said, adding that now he was going to lose trust of the parliament.

He went on to say that whosoever providing oxygen to the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government would face the wrath of the people

Ahsan said not only the government had destroyed the country’s economy but due to its ‘flawed’ foreign policy the country was now isolated from rest of the world.

Commenting on PM Imran’s claims that some foreign powers were bent upon removing him from the office, the PML-N secretary general asked him to name those countries. “And if you don’t, then it means that you are lying,” he added.

Ahsan said that National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, in a tweet, had said that he stood by the prime minister. “The speaker should abide by the constitution and the conventions of the elected House,” he said, adding, “It is speaker’s job to be neutral; if he cannot, then he better leave his job.”
