Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's visit to Egypt was very successful, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

She heaped praise on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for raising concerns over the devastating effects of climate change at the international moot. She said: “Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif raised the voice of developing states which have been at the receiving end of climate change.

She continued: “For the first time, climate change impacts on developing countries have been recognized. Global warming has been mounting financial pressure on developing countries. For the first time, there is a global consensus on the provision of financial resources to compensate the losses of developing countries.”

The information minister took a jibe at former prime minister Imran Khan for what she called ruining the state economy during his rule, saying:  “PM Shehbaz has been busy with better public service delivery, while ex-PM Imran Khan has been on devastation drive.”

She added:  “On the one hand, there is a person who has been serving the country and the people since he came to power and on the other hand, there is a character who has been with his plots to regain power. The PM is on a mission to protect flood victims from cold and diseases while the PTI chief has been on a mission to block the roads.

“Shehbaz Sharif has brought Pakistan's economy back from the brink of collapse while the mastermind of sit-ins and rioting has targeted the state organs to make it to the power corridor again.”
