TV network chief goes ‘missing’ in Karachi

BOL Network President Nabeel Jakhura and a close associate Shabeeh-ul-Hassan went missing in mysterious circumstances, as his family members said he was kidnapped from the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi Thursday night, reported 24NewsHD TV on Friday.

The FIR registered with Aziz Bhatti Police Station says Jakhura left his office for home at 12:30am on the night between Thursday and Friday. He remained in contact with his family by the time he reached Hassan Square but there was no communication after that.

According to Jakhura’s family, he has been abducted near Masjid Bait-ul-Mukarram. They kept trying to contact him on the phone till 3am but there was no response. However, the location was stated to be Scheme 33 when his phone was traced.

Later on Friday morning, his car was found near Sohrab Goth at 6:30am. Although the car was locked with the different items there, both Jakhura and Hassan were not there.

As the police started investigating the matter, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and directed the relevant quarters to ensure the swift and safe recovery of the BOL Network employees.
