Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar is in troubled waters yet again as National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has launched an investigation into another mega corruption case against Usman Buzdar for allotting hundreds of acres land, meant for families of martyrs of Pakistan Army, worth billions of rupees to government officials in South Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

The anti-graft watchdog has now summoned all the records from the Punjab chief Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik, the TV channel reported.

NAB wrote a letter to Punjab Chief Secretary to provide a comprehensive report about the procedure of land allotment.

Sources claimed the Punjab government has not provided the details of the allotment procedure to save itself from the inquiry.

It is pertinent to note that the Punjab government has allotted hundreds of acres of land to government officers’ worth approximately around Rs4 billion meant for families of martyrs of Pakistan Army that was originally allocated for the Shuhada families.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar gave approval for the allotment of the land despite the opposition of his cabinet members.

The officers who were allotted land by the chief minister include Personal Staff Officer to Chief Minister Amir Karim Khan, Additional Home Secretary Faisal Zahoor and Secretary Board of Revenue Ashfaq Ahmad and Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera, Federal Secretary Cabinet.

It is worthy to mention here, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has also been facing a NAB inquiry in liquor licence case for allegedly receiving Rs50 million to force the excise and taxation department to illegally issue a liquor licence to a private hotel.

The TV channel earlier reported liquor licence was issued to the hotel despite the excise and taxation department referring the matter to the chief minister’s office thrice, informing Buzdar that the move was in violation of the 2009 policy.

In 2009, the chief minister’s office had issued a policy under which an L-2 liquor licence could only be issued to hotels having a 4/5 star rating.
