380 candidates deposit down payments under Punjab govt’s e-taxi scheme
There is an important progress in Punjab government's eco-friendly e-taxi scheme as 380 candidates who applied for e-taxi scheme have deposited down payments, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to Provincial Minister for Transport Bilal Akbar Khan, after the draw, 1,100 candidates have been shortlisted for the e-taxi scheme while 380 candidates for the e-taxi scheme have deposited down payments.
All the qualifying candidates are being contacted to pay the down payment.
Punjab government planned to provide 1,100 e-taxis with a subsidy of Rs6 billion.
The scrutiny process of the e-taxi scheme candidate has almost been completed.
Many vehicles will be delivered to the candidates who submitted down payment.
Preference has been given to corporate sector, women and professional drivers in the e-taxi scheme.
The minimum down payment in the scheme is Rs650,000 while the maximum is Rs850,000.
