Nawaz will show maturity, Imran to amend NAB laws: Sheikh Rashid
Gilani says PTI govt befooling people on separate province issue
Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid on Saturday said they had complete trust in the maturity of Nawaz Sharif who would show maturity, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan was set to amend the NAB laws.
Talking to media persons after offering Eid prayers in Rawalpindi, the federal minister said the people who had looted the country did not want any changes. The opposition would make a noise over the issue for two months which was their right, he remarked.
Those acting outside the Constitution would be in jail, the minister said and recalled that the Supreme Court had already ordered that there should be 120 accountability court judges with the verdicts announced in 120 days.
Sheikh Rashid said no one except Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman had staged a protest during the past two years.
He noted that the Pakistani politicians had delayed in acting. “The opposition is assuming that some is going to leave but it isn’t the case,” said Sheikh Rashid.
On the other hand, former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani told reporters in Multan that the PTI government was befooling the people on the issue of a separate province.
“Our demand is for a province. We need a separate province, not a secretariat,” said Gilani who added that the attempt was being to trigger a fight between the people of Multan and Bahawalpur on the issue of the secretariat.
The former premier said he had not seen any government becoming unpopular so quickly. The people’s miseries would multiply if the PTI stayed in office, he remarked.
On the other hand, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who too offered Eid prayers in his hometown, said the country would give a message on August 5 that the every Pakistani was standing by the Kashmiris.
