A video of Dr Jahanzeb, the medical superintendent of Charsadda District Headquarters Hospital, allegedly harassing his subordinate Dr Maria on duty went viral, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Dr Maria of Charsadda Hospital has alleged that MS Dr Jahanzeb harassed her and also insulted her. She claimed the SHO Charsadda City refused to register an FIR against the MS despite her request and video evidence.

Dr Maria in a video statement in Pashto language appealed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan and the KP IGP to intervene and provide justice to her.

Dr Maria alleged that she became a victim of workplace harassment. “Dr Jahanzeb has fired 15 doctors but five of them rejoined after the court orders,” she added.

However, Dr Jahanzeb said he only asked Dr Maria to come up with the rejoining notification by the Health Secretary and Dr Maria was working forcefully in hospital.

He said it was his duty to stop any wrongdoing in the hospital. The MS of the Charsadda hospital alleged that Dr Maria used abusive language against him and she even set the stage for video recording in the room. “I transferred those doctors who are part of the mafia and were recommending medical rep medicines to the patients. Even the former MS of the hospital took action against the same doctors,” he added.
