Irfan Siddiqui denies saying Nawaz Sharif is quitting politics

Senator Irfan Siddiqui has firmly denied reports suggesting that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is stepping away from politics, labelling such claims as baseless and falsely attributed to him.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Siddiqui clarified in a strong rebuttal that the notion of Nawaz Sharif quitting politics is entirely fabricated.

“The statement claiming Nawaz Sharif will not return to politics has wrongly been linked to me,” he said in a statement issued on Friday.

Irfan Siddiqui reaffirmed that Nawaz Sharif, as the president of Pakistan’s largest parliamentary party, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), remains a central figure in national politics.

“He is the most senior national leader and a seasoned politician who continues to play his political role actively,” Siddiqui emphasised.

The senator added that with PML-N currently leading both the federal and Punjab governments, Nawaz Sharif's leadership is crucial.

“There is no question of his disassociation from politics. His political wisdom and leadership are guiding the party and its governments in the centre and the province,” Siddiqui stated.

Senator Irfan Siddiqui concluded by underlining that Nawaz Sharif will continue to shape Pakistan’s political landscape in line with his strategic vision.
