AJK Elections 2026: Polling in Muzaffarabad Division, refugee constituencies to be held tomorrow

Polling for the second phase of the 2026 Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections will be held on Sunday across the Muzaffarabad division, where voters in three districts will elect their representatives.

According to election officials, polling will take place in the districts of Muzaffarabad, Neelum and Jhelum Valley, with a total of 207 candidates contesting nine constituencies across the division. Voting will be held in five constituencies of Muzaffarabad district, two constituencies of Jhelum Valley and two constituencies of Neelum.

In addition, elections will also be held for the 12 constituencies reserved for Kashmiri refugees residing in Pakistan. A total of 137 candidates are contesting these seats, including six constituencies representing refugees from the Kashmir Valley and six from Jammu.

A total of 895,066 registered voters are expected to cast their ballots in the Muzaffarabad division. The electorate comprises 427,400 male voters and 382,167 female voters.

For the 12 refugee constituencies, the total number of registered voters stands at 438,834, including 247,776 male voters and 191,054 female voters.

Election authorities have established 1,483 polling stations across the Muzaffarabad division. Of these, 533 have been declared the most sensitive, 741 sensitive and 209 normal in view of security considerations.

For the elections on the 12 refugee seats, 1,057 polling stations have been set up to facilitate voters.
