Suspect arrested in sexual assault of 10-year-old girl in Shikarpur

Shikarpur police have arrested a wanted suspect in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl in the jurisdiction of Stuart Ganj Police Station, officials said on Saturday.

According to police, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muhammad Kaleem took immediate notice of the incident and constituted a special investigation team under the supervision of ASP City Muhammad Asif, directing officers to ensure the arrest of all those involved in the case.

Acting on the SSP's instructions, the SHO of Stuart Ganj Police Station, along with police personnel led by ASP City Muhammad Asif, conducted a timely operation and arrested the wanted suspect, identified as Shakoor Soomro.

Police said a case was registered at Stuart Ganj Police Station on the complaint of the victim's father, Qurban Soomro, against three nominated suspects, and legal proceedings have been initiated.

Officials said investigation is underway, while raids are being conducted to arrest the remaining accused named in the case.

SSP Kaleem said all those involved in the incident would be arrested in accordance with the law and brought to justice.
