After three-month-long suspension, the transmission of 24NewsHD resumed on Tuesday after the Lahore High Court (LHC) passed an order in this regard as the TV channel vowed to continue sharing the truth with the people without making any compromise.

“Subject to notice, the operation of the impugned order to the extent of suspension of broadcasting licence is hereby suspended,” the court order read.
However, it added that the proceedings initiated by the respondents regarding the alleged violation committed by the appellant shall be continued and concluded in accordance with the law.
A three-member bench comprising Justice Mehmood Mirza, Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti and Justice Muhammad Sajid Mehmood Sethi had issued the order on a petition filed by 24NewsHD.
The court was moved soon after the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) suspended the TV channel’s transmission through a notification on August 30.
Later, the PEMRA had stopped airing the TV channel from satellite as well, triggering a series of protests across the country against muzzling media and silencing the voice of truth.
Earlier on Monday, people from all walks of life including political leaders and journalists welcomed the move. PML-N Secretary-General Ahsan Iqbal was one of them.
