CM Maryam calls for boosting Pakistan-Turkish trade to $5 billion

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz held a meeting with member of Turkish Grand National Assembly Burhan Kayaturk and said that welcoming him is an honour for Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the meeting in Lahore on Monday, Maryam Nawaz said that joint efforts are needed to take bilateral trade between Turkey and Pakistan to $5 billion.

Maryam Nawaz said that the visit of Burhan Kayaturk is a living testament to the enduring brotherhood, shared historical heritage, and mutual trust between the two countries.

The Chief Minister said that in a changing regional landscape, high-level relations between Pakistan and Turkey continue to strengthen the collective resolve for peace, stability, and prosperity.

Maryam Nawaz said, “Pakistan and Turkiye have supported each other in every crisis, humanitarian tragedy, or environmental disaster, and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's standing with Pakistan through good and bad is an expression of undying love.”

Pakistan and Turkiye have always stood united on the principles of justice, sovereignty, and human dignity.

Turkey's fearless, principled, and courageous voice on the issue of Palestine is a source of confidence for the entire Ummah.

From Kashmir to Gaza, there is no distance between the hearts and positions of Pakistan and Turkiye.

Cooperation in climate legislation, local governance, digital exchange, and youth empowerment will give a new dimension to Pak-Turkish relations.

The Chief Minister revealed that Pakistan proposed to name the economic zone as “Recep Tayyib Erdogan Special Industrial Zone”.

The Chief Minister briefed the Turkish member of parliament about Punjab’s government developmental projects which includes Punjab Clean Air Programme, AI Forest Protection Force and Punjab Climatory Observatory.

Member of Turkish Parliament Burhan Kayaturk lauded the construction of 1,40,000 homes as a landmark achievement.
