After Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali also opts out of IPL to play PSL season 11

England all-rounder Moeen Ali has decided to skip the Indian Premier League (IPL) to participate in the upcoming season of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), becoming the second major international star, after South Africa’s Faf du Plessis, to choose the PSL over the IPL this year.

Expressing his excitement, Moeen Ali said it was “a time for new beginnings,” adding: “I am extremely thrilled to be part of this new era of HBL PSL.”

He praised the league’s global reputation, saying: “PSL holds a distinguished place in T20 cricket due to its exceptional quality and world-class talent.”

Moeen Ali said playing in Pakistan has always been a memorable experience for him due to the country’s high-standard cricket and the extraordinary passion of fans.
“The energy of the crowd makes you want to give your very best,” he added.
