Railways collects nearly Rs182m in fines from ticketless passengers in November

Pakistan Railways has intensified its crackdown on ticketless travel, recovering more than Rs182 million from violators during the month of November, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday. 

According to officials, a total of 8,214 passengers travelling without tickets were apprehended in various operations carried out across the country by the ’ commercial department.

Fines amounting to Rs 2,906,575 were collected from these violators.

Additionally, authorities recovered Rs153,201.25 in due fare from the ticketless travellers, depositing the entire amount into the railway treasury.

Deputy Chief Commercial Manager (Passenger) Nasir Nazir stated that the crackdown against ticketless passengers would continue, adding that the department remained committed to improving revenue.
