ECP announces public holiday on February 8

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday announced a public holiday on February 8 for polling in general elections 2024, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

After ECP’s directives, the government of Pakistan issued the notification of public holiday the on election day.

The ECP said that the public holiday on February 8 was announced in order to facilitate the voters to exercise their right to vote.

It may be mentioned here that the Punjab government Wednesday announced holidays for the education sector from February 6 to February 9 on the eve of the general elections.

Punjab chief minister Mohsin Naqvi took to the social media platform X to announce the holidays.
