PTI announces schedule of intra-party elections; to be held on Feb 5

 


Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced the schedule of intra-party elections which will be held on February 5 (Monday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


Party's chief election commissioner Rauf Hassan issued the schedule on Thursday.


Polling will be held on February 5 (Monday) from 10 am to 5 pm. Nomination papers can be received from party's central secretariat or official website from February 1 to February 2. The last date for filing of nomination papers is February 2 till 10pm.


In a statement issued on the social media website X, chief election commissioner Rauf Hassan said all registered voters will be eligible to take part in voting across Pakistan on the designated places for polling to elect a panel or a candidate of their choice.



All the party members registered till January 31, 2024 will be eligible to take part in the voting.


Details of the panels taking part in elections will also be available on the official website of the PTI. The detailed procedure for intra-party polls is given in Election Rules, 2020, is also available on the website.


The candidates can also submit their nomination papers in central and provincial secretariats of the party, besides sending the same digitally through e-mail. Scrutiny of the nomination papers of candidates will be held on February 3. In case of rejection of nomination papers, the appeals can be filed on Feb 3 till 10pm.



All contesting panels’ lists will be published on Feb 4 at 4pm on the website. The official results of intra-party polls will be issued on February 6. 


The PTI has also appointed election Commissioners at the provincial level. Qazi Mohammad Anwar was appointed for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Waleed Iqbal Punjab, Noorul Haq Qureshi Sindh, Syed Iqbal Balochistan while Shah Nasir was appointed election commissioner of Gilgit Baltistan.


A formal notification has been issued by Chief Organizer Tehreek-e-Insaf Umar Ayub.
