FBR fails to achieve tax collection target for December

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has failed to achieve the tax collection target for the month of December.
According to sources, the FBR is facing a Rs25 billion shortfall in December, as it has collected Rs515 billion tax against the total target of Rs540 billion. The FBR collected Rs2,205 billion tax from July till December against the total target of Rs2,210 billion. Sources say there are chances of an increase in tax collection in the coming days.
