Imran Khan challenges SC jurisdiction in PM Shahbaz's 10b defamation case

PTI founder Imran Khan has challenged the jurisdiction of Supreme Court in Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's 10 billion defamation case against him on the ground that only district and session court can announce verdict in such case, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

PTI founder has sought stay on the proceeding and urged Supreme Court to declare orders of Lahore High Court and Additional Sessions Judge null and void. PTI counsel requested that Lahore High Court's decision should be suspended and the proceedings should be stopped until the decision on the appeal is decided. 

PTI founder said the jurisdiction of the Additional Sessions Judge's court was objected too. The Additional Sessions Judge rejected the objection and the Lahore High Court upheld the decision.
