Fire erupts in Firdous Shopping Center in Karachi

A massive fire broke out in Firdous Shopping Center due to an electric short circuit in Karachi, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The shopping centre is located in the Liaquatabad area of Karachi. Soon after receiving the report, the Rescue 1122 team rushed to the spot.
A spokesman of Rescue 1122 said that the fire was brought under control. Now the cooling process is underway.
Luckily, no loss of life has been reported so far from the site of the incident.
Earlier on June 29, 2026, police submitted their investigative report and challan to the prosecution in the Gul Plaza fire case, declaring the devastating blaze that claimed 72 lives as accidental, the investigative report confirmed.
According to the investigative report, the Punjab Forensic Laboratory found no trace of explosive material at the site, ruling out any possibility of sabotage.
Meanwhile, the police nominated six suspects, including a shopkeeper and his 11-year-old son, for negligence and dereliction of duty. All nominated suspects have been declared absconders.
