Punjab’s tourism ambitions get major boost as 40-storey hotel project advances

Plans for Punjab's first JW Marriott hotel have moved a step closer after a technical bid was submitted for the landmark luxury hospitality project in Lahore, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the available details, the Central Business District (CBD) Punjab had invited proposals for the development of a five-star hotel and mixed-use complex on a 41-kanal site located on Route 47 in Lahore.

The technical bid for the project has now been submitted by a consortium comprising Choqoor and ZKB, bringing the proposed development one step closer to the next stage.

The project includes a 40-storey JW Marriott hotel with an estimated 350 to 400 guest rooms.

Alongside the hotel, the development will also feature a commercial mall, retail shops and outlets for international brands as part of the mixed-use complex.

The proposal also includes JW Marriott-branded residences, which will be developed under a profit-sharing model with CBD Punjab.

Officials expect the project to attract more than Rs50 billion in foreign investment, making it one of the province's most significant hospitality investment projects.

According to the proposed timeline, the development is expected to be completed within five years, after which the hotel and the mixed-use complex will become operational.

The architectural design will be prepared by internationally approved experts associated with the JW Marriott brand, while the final design will require approval from CBD Punjab before construction begins.
