“It tells a sorry tale of how PTI govt is dealing with the higher education sector. Absolutely criminal,” the PML-N president said in a tweet.

Shehbaz Sharif said that higher education has been pushed back by decades due to the policies of the government.

Meanwhile, the All University Employees Association continued their protest for the fifth consecutive day in Peshawar.

University lecturers including foreign-qualified PHDs and employees gathered at Engineering University Chowk in Peshawar.

The university employees are on strike against yesterday's incident in which police lashed the protesters and registered cases against 21 persons.

The protesting teachers and university staffers have also been joined by students of various university students.
