Forty arrested in joint operation following attack on judge in Khairpur
Local police, in collaboration with Pakistan Rangers, launched a major joint operation and arrested 40 suspects following a brazen attack on an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) judge in Khairpur.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the operation was carried out under the direct supervision of SSP Khairpur Hassan Sardar Niazi.
Search and combing operations were conducted across multiple areas of the Gambat Sub-division and within the limits of Tando Masti Police Station.
The raiding teams were equipped with armoured vehicles and the latest operational technology, enabling them to target and destroy various known dacoit hideouts effectively.
According to SSP Niazi, the clearance operation will continue until all criminal elements and dacoits are eradicated from the region.
The law enforcement sweep comes just days after a deadly attack occurred on May 31, 2025, when a group of armed assailants opened fire on the convoy of Civil Judge Larkana Salman Mughal.
The incident occurred in the Tando Masti area of Khairpur, as the judge was travelling from Sukkur to Larkana. Although Judge Mughal remained unharmed, the assault claimed the life of a police officer and left two others critically injured.
The fallen officer has been identified as Maqbool Shaikh, who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty during the attack.
