Four Jhelum brothers caught flying with fake EU documents
Online scam exposed by FIA as travelers offloaded at Islamabad Airport
A failed attempt to travel to Lithuania using fake resident cards was intercepted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) at Islamabad International Airport, resulting in four passengers being offloaded, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
According to FIA immigration officials, the passengers—Zeeshan Munir, Badr Munir, Hassan Jameel, and Muhammad Ali—were found travelling on counterfeit Lithuanian resident cards. All four individuals are brothers and residents of Jhelum.
The fraudulent documents were discovered during routine immigration clearance when officers flagged the cards as suspicious. A subsequent review by the FIA’s second-line immigration desk confirmed the cards were fake.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the passengers came in contact with a human trafficking agent through an online advertisement on social media platforms. Lured by promises of easy immigration, the brothers paid a total of €8,000 to the agent via various online payment methods.
The FIA authorities said the agent behind the scam is known for deceiving citizens through digital advertisements, offering fake European documentation and visa services.
Following the discovery, all four suspects were handed over to the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Islamabad for further legal proceedings. Investigations are ongoing to track down the agent responsible for orchestrating the scam.
