Twelve family members collapse after poisonous water intake, 2 critical

As many as twelve members of a family fell unconscious after allegedly drinking poisonous water during a meal in Ahmadpur Sial, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Monday.

The incident occurred in the Ranjeet Kot area of the city. According to rescue sources, several women and children were among those affected.

Upon receiving the emergency call, a team from Rescue 1122 promptly arrived at the scene and shifted all the affected individuals to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) in Ahmadpur Sial for immediate medical treatment.

Due to the severity of their condition, two of the women were later referred to Nishtar Hospital in Multan for advanced care.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that the victims consumed water from a nearby hydrant after finishing their meal. Authorities suspect that the water may have been contaminated.

Following the incident, local law enforcement registered a case and launched a formal investigation to determine the source and nature of the suspected poisoning.
