Sindh employees likely to get 12% salary increase in new budget
The Sindh government has accelerated preparations for the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, with a strong possibility that the budget will be presented in the Sindh Assembly on June 12, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.
According to sources, the provincial government is considering presenting the budget at 3:00 pm on June 12. Sindh Chief Minister and Provincial Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah is expected to present the budget in the assembly.
Sources in the Sindh Finance Department said that a proposal to increase the salaries of government employees by 12 percent is under consideration.
Under the proposal, the federal government is expected to contribute a 10 percent increase, while the Sindh government may add an additional 2 percent raise.
Officials said consultations regarding the budgetary proposals are ongoing and final decisions will be made before the budget is formally presented.
The upcoming budget is expected to outline the provincial government's priorities for development spending, public welfare initiatives, and measures aimed at addressing economic challenges in the new fiscal year.
