Video emerges of Pakistani hostages held by Somali pirates, families demand swift action

A new video has surfaced showing Pakistani nationals held by Somali pirates, intensifying concerns over their safety and prompting renewed calls for government intervention.

According to details, the vessel Owner 25, which departed from Pakistan on February 17, was reportedly hijacked on April 21. In the latest video, at least 10 Pakistani hostages can be seen appealing to the Pakistani government for urgent assistance and safe recovery.

One of the hostages, identified as Yasir Khan, is seen urging the Army Chief and other high authorities to take immediate action for their release. The hostages claim they are facing severe shortages of food and water, with Yasir Khan stating that they are provided food only once in 24 hours.

The video also shows distressed captives alleging they are being forced to drink unsafe water, further highlighting their deteriorating conditions in captivity.

The hostages appealed for immediate government efforts to secure their release, while also calling on authorities to make progress on the kidnappers’ demands to ensure their safe return.

Family members of the abducted Pakistanis have expressed growing anxiety as more than 43 days have passed since their capture. They have urged the government to take urgent steps to bring their loved ones back safely.

The emergence of the video has further heightened concern among families, who continue to demand swift and effective action from the authorities.
