A lawmaker from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh said on Monday that three lawmakers from his party had been kidnapped ahead of the Senate election, which is scheduled to take place on March 3.

Addressing a press conference at Insaf House in Karachi, Member of Sindh Assembly from PTI Khurrum Sher Zaman welcomed the Supreme Court verdict on PTI’s plea for Senate election through open ballot and said the decision would help identify those who sell their votes for money during the Senate election.

The PTI lawmaker from Sindh praised Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying that he raised his voice against vote rigging during his anti-government sit in in Islamabad in 2014. He said that Imran Khan always stood against those who sold their votes in the Senate election. He said the latest judgement of the Supreme Court would help any party identify the black sheep.

The PTI lawmaker said the Supreme Court verdict was a blow to former president Asif Ali Zardari, who is a specialist in buying people’s conscience. He said that three lawmakers from the PTI were kidnapped on Sunday and their families were upset about their disappearance. He said the PTI had informed all institutions about the disappearance of the lawmakers and the situation arising out of these disappearances.
