Levy on high speed diesel increased to Rs45/litre

The government has increased the levy on high speed diesel from today (March 1), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The levy on high speed diesel has been increased to Rs45/litre and it will be effective from March 1. 

However, the PDL on petrol will remain the same i.e. Rs50/litre. 

It is to be noted here that no sales tax has been imposed on petrol and high speed diesel. 

On Tuesday, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced to slash petrol price by Rs5 per litre for the next fortnight.

The finance minister also announced that the prices of diesel would not change and it would trade at the current price for the next fortnight i.e. Rs280 per litre.

Dar said the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs5 per litre and its new price would be Rs267 per litre.

He announced that the price of light diesel has been reduced by Rs12 per litre and kerosene by Rs15 per litre and the new price of light diesel oil would be Rs184.68 per litre and kerosene Rs187.73 per litre, respectively.
