Counter-Terrorism Department Mardan on Saturday registered a first information report (FIR) of suicide bombing in Darul Uloom Haqqania in Akkora Khattak while the KP government has announced a cash reward seeking information regarding the suicide bomber, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The case was registered on behalf of Abdul Haq Sani injured son of late Maulana Hamidul Haq. The FIR was registered under Section 7 of Pakistan Panel Code (PPC) 427-324-302 and 3 and 4 Exp.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Anti-Terrorism Department released picture of suspected suicide bomber’s headless body and announced Rs500,000 reward for providing key information about him.

The CTD announced that any person who will provide credible information regarding the name, father’s name and residential address of the bomber will be rewarded.

The CTD advised people to contact on phone number 09119212591 or mobile phone no. 03159135456 to provide relevant information while his name and whereabouts will be kept secret.

On Friday, eight people including renowned religious scholar Maulana Hamidul Haq were martyred and more than 10 injured as a suicide bomber detonated himself amid worshippers at the Jamia Haqqania in Akora Khattak in Nowshera during Friday prayers.

Jamia Haqqania’s Deputy Administrator Maulana Hamidul Haq, who was the elder son of late JUI leader Maulana Samiul Haq, was martyred in the blast.

Eyewitnesses said Maulana Hamidul Haq was targeted in the courtyard between his residence and the mosque.

Namaz-i-Janaza of Hamidul Haq offered 

Funeral prayers of Maulana Hamidul Haq and four others, martyred in Akora Khattak blast have been offered in Nowshera on Saturday.

The funeral prayer was offered in Jamia Darul Uloom Haqqania Akora Khattak.

Scholars and political leaders from across the country participated in the funeral prayers.

Former Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ghulam Ali also attended the funeral prayers.

Rashidul Haq appointed new deputy administrator

Maulana Rashidul Haq has been unanimously appointed the deputy administrator of Darul Uloom Haqqania after Maulana Hamidul Haq’s martyrdom. 

Maulana Rashidul Haq is the son of the late JUI-S chief Maulana Samiul Haq and younger brother of Maulana Hamidul Haq. 

Abdul Haq Sani has been appointed as the political successor of his father Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani Shaheed.

Investigation Underway 


Investigations into the deadly suicide blast that struck Darul Uloom Haqqania, Akora Khattak continued on Saturday. According to sources, forensic teams have collected crucial evidence, and authorities have sought NADRA’s assistance to identify the suicide bomber through fingerprints. Additionally, samples of the attacker's remains have been sent for verification. To trace the attacker's movements, CCTV footage has been retrieved from multiple locations.

Meanwhile, initial findings suggest that the suicide bomber met Maulana Hamidul Haq near the stairs as he was leaving the mosque for home. Authorities are now probing how the attacker managed to reach that point and gain access to the seminary. 

Speaking on the matter, IG of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, Zulfiqar Hameed, stated that the investigation is progressing from three different angles. Furthermore, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and other security agencies are also working swiftly to identify and apprehend those behind the attack.
