Sindh Govt opposes more canals on Indus river: Sharjeel Memon

Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has reiterated that no canals will be constructed on Indus River, nor will their construction be allowed, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday. 

Talking to media in Karachi, Memon said PPP remained steadfast in protecting Sindh’s water resources and ensuring the province’s rights will be upheld. 

Sindh’s Senior Minister said that NFC Award and 18th Amendments were significant achievements of the Pakistan People’s Party. He further stated that the PPP played crucial role in halting the controversial Kala Bagh Dam project.

Highlighting Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s contributions, Memon said that 2.1 million houses were currently under construction for flood victims as part of the PPP’s commitment to rehabilitation efforts.
