Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi briefs PM Shehbaz on his visits to Italy, Poland
Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and briefed him about his visit to Rome, Italy where he attended four-nation conference of interior ministers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Besides Pakistan, the interior ministers of Italy, Spain and Greece attended the event.
Naqvi also briefed the prime minister about the six-nation conference of interior ministers held in Poland in which besides Pakistan and Poland, the interior ministers of Latvia, Finland, Estonia and Lithuania also participated.
The minister told PM Shehbaz that at both these conferences, the participating countries agreed on the issuance of work permits for Pakistanis. “The participating countries also appreciated the steps taken by the government of Pakistan to reduce the number of illegal immigrants heading to Europe by 47 per cent and significantly controlling human smuggling,” Naqvi said, adding that both Poland and Italy would soon drop the condition of the issuance of visas to the Pakistanis holding official passports.
He informed that a plan would be presented to the European Union at the earliest for enhancing the capacity of Pakistan to control illegal immigration and secure its borders.
The prime minister praised the efforts being made by the minister.
