Iranian Foreign Ministry says Supreme Leader Khamenei is safe!

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei has stated that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is safe following reports of military aggression against the country.

In remarks made to US media, Baghaei said that all senior leadership figures were “safe and sound,” adding that Iran’s governance system remains fully functional and operational.

He emphasized that Iran’s political structure is rooted in a popular revolution and does not rely on the authority of a single individual, noting that all state matters are being carried out according to established national plans.

Baghai said that Iran’s armed forces have been engaged in defensive operations since early morning in response to what he described as ongoing aggression. He added that the country’s immediate focus is on safeguarding its region, citizens, and national security.

The spokesman also accused the United States and Israel of undermining diplomatic efforts, claiming this was the second such instance in the past nine months. He said that negotiations were previously disrupted last June when Iran was preparing for the sixth round of talks.

According to Baghaei, fresh aggression began just as discussions on the technical aspects of a possible agreement were set to take place in Vienna, despite mediation efforts indicating that progress had been made towards an agreement.

He reiterated that Iran has consistently maintained it does not seek nuclear weapons and that its right to peaceful nuclear energy is protected under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

Describing the situation as an “unprovoked and unjustified aggression,” Baghaei said Iran has welcomed diplomacy but would continue to defend itself under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, warning that further escalation could have wider regional consequences.
