PM summons cabinet meeting tomorrow to review regional tensions, security situation

An important meeting of the federal cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, will be held tomorrow (Monday), according to sources.

Sources said the meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow morning ahead of the parliament session. Key national and international issues are expected to come under discussion.

The cabinet will conduct a detailed review of the rising tensions and war-like situation in the region. A comprehensive briefing will be given on the regional security environment, including the ongoing Iran-Israel tensions.

Matters related to national security will also be part of the meeting agenda. Sources said the country’s internal security situation will be reviewed, including consultations on operations related to Afghanistan.

The federal cabinet will also be briefed on the recent protests against the United States. Security aspects of the protests and the government’s future strategy in this regard will be considered.

Sources indicated that important decisions are likely to be taken during the meeting. An official statement is expected to be issued following the session.
