Cabinet suspends disciplinary action against federal officers

The cabinet suspended disciplinary action against the federal officers that were to be forcibly retired for allegedly being involved in irregularities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to the official sources, disciplinary action against the federal officers was suspended under Civil Servants Directory Retirement from Service Rules 2020.
The cabinet has also formed a three-member committee to review the rules.
The committee will review the rules and make recommendations.
The cabinet has stopped action against the officers till the recommendations of the committee.
Instructions to stop disciplinary action against the officers have also been issued to the establishment division.
The convener of the three-member cabinet committee is Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar.
Other members of the cabinet committee include Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman and Minister for Railways Saad Rafique.
Under the rules, the officers with bad reputation and poor performance and those involved in plea bargaining and corruption were to be forcibly retired.
A committee had also been formed earlier which had issued show cause notices to several officers.
