PPP will not compromise on rights of masses: Bilawal

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that PPP will not compromise on the rights of the masses and its enemies will continue to face the disgrace, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

Addressing a public gathering in Mirpur Khas on Thursday, Bilawal said PPP has long history of struggle for democracy. 

He said public always supported the PPP because Bhutto always worked for the democracy and will continue to protect the rights of the people. 

Bilawal Bhutto said during the interim government, then President Arif Alvi was in power. Two decisions were made at that time. The first decision was to build new canals. 

The second decision was made by IRSA and it issued a fake certificate that water was available and 6 canals will be built. 

Bilawal Bhutto said PPP had been fighting on principles and will continue to fight. He said the people have always supported PPP. 

Bilawal Bhutto said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto gave rights to the workers. 

He said President Zardari made it clear that they will not allow new canals to be built on Indus river. They did not have the courage to raise their voice on the canals decision, so they started criticizing President Asif Ali Zardari. 

Bilawal saluted Asif Zardari for his remarkable performance. 

He said PPP leadership convinced council of common interests that the creation of new canals on Indus River is not feasible. It was agreed in CCI that no one can make decisions unilaterally. PPP leaders said that Sindh government has decided to launch Benazir agriculture card to support small farmers. 

Bilawal Bhutto strongly rejected India’s decision to unilaterally suspend the Indus Waters Treaty.

He stated that India’s aggressive actions towards the Indus River would not be tolerated. He described “the Indus as more than a river. It is the foundation of our culture and our history.” 

PPP leader emphasized that any interference with this river will be met with a strong response. 

Bilawal said, “We do not want war, but if anyone attacks our river, we are ready to give a fitting reply. We will fight until the last breath if necessary.”

PPP Chairman accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom he referred to as “the butcher of Gujarat,” of trying to create conflict through water politics. 

Bilawal stated that Modi’s real target is not terrorism, but Pakistan’s water resources. He further added, “Terrorism is just an excuse. The actual goal is to control Sindhu.”

 Bilawal also dismissed India’s allegations against Pakistan, challenging the Indian government to present any solid proof. “If you have evidence against Pakistan, show it to the world,” he demanded. 

Speaking about the Palagam incident, he said India had used it as an excuse to suspend the treaty. It is a violation of international agreements. “We reject this decision completely,” Bilawal declared.

He expressed hope that both Pakistani and Indian citizens would stand together to protect the Indus River. “Even the people of India love the Indus. The people understand how the Indus River deeply connects our shared history,” he said. 

Bilawal also shared the government’s development plans for Tharparkar. He says, “We will bring change through a public-private partnership and will improve the lives of people in the region.”

Bilawal stressed that Pakistan is a peaceful country and Islam is a religion of peace. However, he warned that if the flow of water is stopped, it may lead to bloodshed. “We will never allow anyone to stop the lifeline of our nation. We are ready to protect it at all costs,” he affirmed.
