Youth drowns in Lower Jhelum Canal in Sargodha

A young man drowned in the Lower Jhelum Canal in Sargodha district on Friday, with rescue teams continuing search operations to locate the body, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.

Rescue personnel said the man was bathing in the canal,  locally known as the Ramadan Canal, when he slipped into deep water and went missing.

According to rescuers, the canal at the site is approximately 12 feet deep and around 100 feet wide, complicating search efforts.

Teams equipped with diving gear are combing the canal to recover the victim.

The search operation was ongoing at the time of filing this report.
