SHO suspected of role in shooting of Karachi prayer leader

A prayer leader, identified as 46-year-old Mufti Abdullah was shot and injured in a firing incident in the Jamshed Quarters area. Locals arrested the accused attacker and handed him over to the police.
As per the phone records available with the 24NewsHD TV channel, the accused attacker Muzamil was in contact with the area Station House Officer (SHO) named Zafar before the targeted hit.
The TV channel reported that SHO Zafar contacted accused Muzamil at 4:06pm while he also talked to the SHO at 4:29pm on WhatsApp.
Police took the mobile of Mufti Abdullah with them while the family members of Mufti Abdullah alleged that the incident should not be labelled as mere a dacoity.
Family members of Mufti Abdullah demanded Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and the Sindh IGP for fair investigation into the incident and that they should also probe SHO Zafar.
After the attack, Mufti Abdullah was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.
Karachi Police said the arrested accused will be produced in a court for remand on Monday (tomorrow).
The accused has been identified as 25-year-old Muzammil, a resident of Muzammil Garden area. Police officials said the incident is being investigated thoroughly.
