No belief in use of force, negotiations were only option in TLP case: PM

Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday said he had no belief in the use of force to resolve the issues and the talks were the only option in the TLP case to solve the matter amicably.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, PM Imran took the ruling party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Core Committee into confidence on the TLP issue and on the matter of giving a relief package to the masses.

The PM chaired a meeting of the PTI core committee in Islamabad and advised the party to start preparations for contesting local bodies’ elections. He also ensured to award party tickets on merit.

Discussing the protest of the banned religious outfit Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) in the meeting, the PM said he did not want any type of bloodshed in the country as it was not in favour of anyone.

PM Imran said he never advocated the use of force or creating anarchy and also tried to resolve the situation with the TLP amicably. He said negotiations were the only solution to the current problem.

He directed the aides to launch the PTI’s public relations campaign and issued directives regarding the reorganization of the party.

Later, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar also called on PM Imran Khan and discussed the law and order situation in the province.

The PM advised the Punjab CM that special attention should be paid to law and order in the province and no compromise could be made on it.
