PM bars core team to discuss accord with TLP
PM set an example of MQM unity for his PTI core committee members to support each other
Prime Minister Imran Khan barred the PTI core committee members from discussing the deal of the government with the banned religious party, the TLP.
The 24News revealed the inside story of the core committee meeting in which PM Imran quoted the example of MQM’s unity of supporting each other on any issue.
In the meeting, PM expressed his dissatisfaction with ministers and central party leadership over the issue of the TLP and the show cause notices of the ECP to Fawad Chaudhry and Azam Swati.
PM Imran Khan complained to the members that they were not witnessed united as the MQM members played on the issues on the front foot unitedly.
The PM said that in the last few weeks, he had not seen the ministers and the party leadership stand on the front foot and united.
Giving an example of the MQM to the PTI core committee members, the PM said, “I remembered how the MQM members in National Assembly used to support each other and raised the issue all 18 parliamentarians unitedly to show some intensity of it.
Imran Khan directed the members of the core committee to go to the Election Commission of Pakistan with Azam Swati and Fawad Chaudhry.
In the meeting, the PM also directed the Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar to get the approval of the draft of local body elections from the Cabinet within the next 10 days and then move it to the assembly for holding direct elections.
