Iran war will enter new phase says US VP

United States Vice President (VP) JD Vance has said that the Iran war will enter a new phase soon after the conclusion of the first phase, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

"We can't predict the future, but I think the president is right when he says the situation will move into a completely different phase in a couple of months," Vance said in an interview with The New York Post.

He explained that there are two phases in the development of the conflict, and "the first is complete."

"The first phase consisted of destroying the nuclear program (of Iran - IF), destroying their conventional armed forces, destroying their ability to project their power the way they could just a couple of years ago," Vance noted.

The essence of the second phase, according to the vice president, is to "preserve as much global stability as possible" and to prevent Iran from recovering.

Vance emphasized that only U.S. President Donald Trump, as commander-in-chief, "determines when conflicts begin and when they end." The vice president also stated that at the present moment the United States is "not engaged in aggressive operations."
